12-year-old Grace Green’s compassion and desire to help others has paid off as she raises an incredible $1,000 in gifts to donate to Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH).

Part of a passion project for school, and with a lot of determination and hard work, Grace set out to raise funds for RNSH’s spinal unit as well as patients suffering from eating disorders.

According to RNSH, the young local hero has spent the past three years over the school holidays volunteering with her grandmother, Anne, and shows she is well beyond her years in kindness.

Grace said her motivation to fundraise for RNSH came after spending her time visiting patients in hospital, and decided she wanted to help make their hospital experience more comfortable.

Since raising the funds for the hospital, Grace was able to present some of the gifts to the patients, including music speakers and a selection of games for patients and families to play during recovery.
