Balmoral Oval will commence major upgrades after a successful grant application secured a $1 million grant through NSW government.

The announcement was made on Saturday 26 November by Member for North Shore Felicity Wilson and Minister for Sport, the Honourable Alister Henskens.

“I am very pleased to share that the Balmoral Oval has been successful in securing a $1 million grant through the NSW government’s Multi-Sport Community Facility Fund.” Ms Wilson said.

Minister for Sport Alister Henskens added that “these projects will not only provide more opportunities for people to play sport, but they will also generate a local sports facility infrastructure boom, creating thousands of jobs and delivering an economic boost for communities across NSW.”

It is understood the funding will go towards upgrading the existing oval including new natural and synthetic turf surfaces, all weather surfaces and tracks, a surface drainage and automated irrigation system, a new perimeter path and updated lighting.

Mosman Mayor Carolyn Corrigan thanked Minister Henskens and Ms Wilson for supporting the successful grant application.
